The difference in Telemedicine and Telehealth

Telemedicine and telehealth are often used interchangeably, but they have distinct differences.

Telemedicine is the practice of providing medical care remotely using telecommunication and information technologies. It involves the use of video conferencing, messaging, or phone calls to consult with a healthcare professional. Telemedicine is focused on the delivery of clinical services, such as diagnosing and treating illnesses, managing chronic conditions, and prescribing medication. It is used to provide remote access to specialist care and consultation, and it can also be used for follow-up visits, monitoring symptoms, and managing medication.

Telehealth, on the other hand, is a broader term that encompasses both clinical and non-clinical services. It includes a variety of remote healthcare services that use technology to improve healthcare access and outcomes. Telehealth is focused on the delivery of healthcare services, education, and information to patients and providers, including remote monitoring, patient education, health information exchange, and administrative activities such as billing and scheduling.
